I guess the presence of the 212 is not the same as the 810?

It’s equivalent to say a 410, which is mostly what I needed at our gigs.

I brought out the Moose 810, just because I had it in the garage and want to put some miles on it.

It is and was complete overkill for our situation.

Going to miss the sound, but most of all the height of my drink coaster.

Glad you survived, I lost control of an 810 on a staircase backstage at a Hollywood venue: it was only 8 steps: man oh man what a racket, we both survived: but man I do understand the adrenaline rush, and the temptation to make a potentially bad choice.
My 215 is a nice melding of old/new.
45x15x26 @90lbs 900 watt RMS Neo Kappalite driver equipped. Guilty indulgence to drag it out: manageable size and weight. Works well with the Mesa WD800, and the SVT.

The 810, the MTI SVT, and the ISOVent were supplanted by the SVT heritage anniversary and a more manageable, LABSeries. Classic, vintage, rare updated to modern and sound’s killer!!!

I’m also tempted to pick up a Peavy BW equipped 2x15 on Craigslist: has been listed for 2months now only 40.00 . I won’t though! It’s just more validation that big n heavy has little validity appeal for most in the market today! If I did not already have the LABSeries I would in a heartbeat.

If big, heavy cabinets were so desirable, you wouldn't see them used for pennies on the dollar. THIS is why most commercial companies no longer offer them (as their premium offerings).

The only reason I haven't junked my Trace Elliot 1248H is because I have yet to acquire a suitable 2x12 sealed cab to house two of the Celestion custom 200 W drivers and suitable cardboard boxes to house the second pair, to be stored as replacements. I believe the Mesa/Boogie horizontal Recto 2x12 cab is just about exactly half the volume of the Trace Elliot 4x12 cab, but spending the money on a Mesa cab hasn't been a priority for me, so the gigantic thing just sits in a corner of my house. I live alone in a house that's really too big for my needs, so it's not a bother.

Pre-COVID, I used to haul it out once a year to use as backline for the second stage of a local music festival on whose planning committee I sat, but now I no longer have my truck, and I've committed to being car-free, so it is never leaving this house again. If and when I move, I will extract the drivers and electronics, and the cab itself will go to the dump.

Putting two of the drivers into a Mesa Recto cab and turning it vertically would make a 4 ohm, 400 W, 2x12 vertical cab that would be a nice match for my Mesa Walkabout head.

The only time these days that I think the big, heavy cabs aren't necessarily a bad idea is when they get left in rehearsal and/or performance places all the time. IME lighter, smaller gear that's easy to carry may disappear more easily...I mean it's easier to walk off with a mantel clock than a grandfather clock and either one can do a fine job of telling you the time.
