I would want to know more about things like sensitivity, on/off axis response, etc.

This is Monk Montgomery on an early Mastersounds album. It's not easy to see in the pic, but that is a real speaker he is sitting in front of. 16ft diameter. I think it belonged to the recording studio but was not used in the recording.
