This was my July 4th rig for an outdoor concert for 6,000 people. The stage was huge, like 60x35 maybe, and my cab was all the way to the back of the stage, so when I would walk to the other side of the stage to jam with the guitarist it was important that I could still hear myself even when I wasn't in front of a monitor. Mission accomplished. I think the flex does this even better than the other cabs I have.

I have never played outside to 500 people let alone a show like yours, but when I do play outdoor gigs, (private parties and block parties) my 48 spreads the wealth around the landscape in amazing fashion. Many outdoor festivals I have attended with 8x10 back lines, even with the bass in the PA, don't get the off axis dispersion of these cabs. Go past the 180 degree and bass falls off significantly. Not with these. I am experiencing an interesting phenomena with the 46 that if i walk off to the side at 180 I actually hear myself best. Maybe my position diminishes the volume from the rest of the band and the BigE does not trail off at all at 180? Pretty cool.

I will say the only thing about the fullface grills: it gives you one less handhold when lifting it in and out of odd places, having hoisted Nomatic's flex 210 several times and grabbing it by the lip of the port occasionally.

The only other improvement, form factor wise, would be some sort of interlocking system so that the two cabs lock together when stacked.

File these quibbles squarely under "first world problems"

We could make it a third world problem - with the full face grills it is more difficult to fill the port with earth and use it to grow vegetables to feed ones' family... Shame, too because the Vortexitude causes plants to grow at unusually fast rates.

Ok the deed is done, after chatting with mike on the phone again I've put in an order for a MAS112 with the good people in the Air Force band supply shop. Hopefully it gets approved and a big thank you to all the tax payers out there for all my MAS gear!

Played a stage show Monday and Tuesday, house sold out both nights (450+), rock n roll. I play this theater often and I'm almost always frustrated with the sound. I usually use two sealed 115 cabs to help with the boom, standing waves and tricky acoustics. Guys I've been playing with for 15+years show up, see the new cab, roll their eyes yet again. Give me the usual, well deserved ribbing for bringing another piece of new gear to try out.

MAS112 kicked some serious ass and made me smile the whole night, two nights in a row. This cab is the real deal.

The MAS112 is a hammer, with IMO the perfect balance of mids. Easiest schlep I have found. My only complaint is an annoying buzz on the G notes when pushed. Hopefully Mike can get that figured out, cause I am otherwise extremely happy!

A little more open and even to my ears than the 210 Flex, with a bit less total output. The response of the 112 is closer to what a fell in love with in the 8x5, super quick.
