Double Bass Big endpin Rubber Tip

If the ID of the rubber tip is bigger than the OD of the end pin, buy a dowel of the correct OD to fit the rubber tip; drill a hole down the centerline of the dowel to fit the end pin; secure the dowel to the end pin with hardware store epoxy.

The crutch tips come in multiple Inside Diameters. I've stopped getting them from drugstores because the size variety is much better online. My source recently has been Amazon and since I also use a cane, I get 6 at a time, but there are other sources out there. These tips do stretch well enough to fit slightly larger shaft sizes. They typically have a washer inside at the bottom of the hole, so in the case of a sharp tipped endpin, the sharp tip won't poke through the crutch tip.

These seem to be available in white, grey and black.

IF you do a lot of playing outside on concrete or even dirt, these crutch tips wear out pretty quickly. I've gone through 2 in the last 18 months, just having put a new one on.

I just got one of these about two weeks ago...works good. Also, the slight overhang of the rubber on the endpin on mine keeps it from constantly loosening and squeaking like my old one did.

Just curious, do you play standing? I bought the Concord too and find it, like all of its predecessors, slides on dusty floors. I play seated so angle is steeper than standing. Only security I find is stabbing stage with sharp endpin or using Xeros strap when that's not allowed.

Concord is more spongy than crutch tips so more cushioning / protection when I use bass like a cane to spare my sorry back hobbling on to stage.
