Big thanks to Bergantino!!!

I have a Bergantino B|Amp and NXT212 speaker. I called hoping to contact somebody from customer service there and was pleasantly surprised to speak with Jim himself.

His answers to my questions contained much much more useful information than what I was looking for and demonstrated that this person running this company truly loves what he does and is personally very invested not only in seeing his gear used optimally, but in ensuring that those who use it are set up more broadly for success in what we are trying to accomplish.

It's really difficult to thank someone adequately for providing that level of customer service and help; so I want everyone on here to know that when you buy Bergantino, you're buying directly from the guy who designs them and he's there 100% for every customer.

Bergantino is by far Head and shoulders above everyone. Customer service and product wise. Haven’t looked back since I got my Bergantino Gear.

Darn it all, I wish I could afford a Bergie set-up! I'd get the Forte 800 head with the NXT212 cab - heard a bassist playing through that rig a while back, and it was like - yeah, now that's the sound I'm looking for. High level stuff, man. I can relate, ebo - major GAS!

I called the company once. I had purchased a used 12" cab with a very badly sliced handle grip. Jim B. answered the phone and sent me a new one - no charge.

I had an issue 10-12 years ago with a Shuttle 6.0 head, and I received an email to call this XXX number. Jeff G. himself answered the phone.

I called MTD once, and Mike T. answered the phone.

It is very difficult for big stores to compete with customer service like these guys offer.
I had a similar experience when I bought an HT322 way back in the day; I called with a question, talked to Jim for a good 15 minutes, and learned a couple hours-worth of information.

A similar experience with Sheldon Dingwall, discussing my first Dingwall bass, is why I'm still playing Dingwall basses almost 20 years later.

Lots of companies are looking for a quick buck, but all of the builders and designers mentioned so far in this thread exhibit a true passion and commitment to their craft - and it's tough to put a dollar value on that kind of reputation.

I wish success to them all, because they've earned it.

As a Bergantino user since 2000 (I bought 210 and 115 cabs direct from Jim after the NAMM show that year) I have to say I've experienced the most outstanding customer service over the years. I've never had any issues with the products themselves as they have always worked flawlessly, but for anything else I don't think I've ever had to to wait more than half a day to get an answer on something.

My only complaint is every time I've tried a new Bergantino product at NAMM or elsewhere I've been compelled to empty my wallet and own one.

Okay, great company, great product...

but let's not get carried away here. :)

that’s my opinion lol, every single issue I’ve ever had has been addressed by Jim or a rep and been solved within 24hrs. That’s Head and shoulders above every company I’ve dealt with, who’ve had to wait days and at times repeated emails and calls to even get discussed. Then having to wait several more days to get it solved…

I’m a Bergantino nut - I own 7 Bergantino cabinets alone.

Jim Bergantino’s stuff is consistently great. I remember my face melting upon the first time I heard an HT112 in Rudy’s Music in NYC… that feeling hasn’t left me since.

That's wild. I was on a mini vacation in NYC around the turn of the millennium, and of course had to tour the music district. I heard my first Bergantino cab at Rudy's, and have been a big fan ever since.

Probably last year I saw one of their 6x10s on GC Used site at a pretty reasonable price...

Gave me immediate GAS, but needing anything, I paused for a few days... Gone.

I kinda regret not grabbing it. :)

The NV610 is still my favorite cab bar none. I originally snagged a prototype version in red tolex... sold it when my back acted up... but missed it so much that I bought another in black tolex a couple years later. I still own it, but these days it's an extravagance, way too much cab for the vast majority of my gigs. But I did get to use it once this year, at an outdoor gig where I got no PA support but the guitarist did. So much fun! :bassist:

My CN212 is sort of a reference cab for me. Whenever I try out a new amp I use that cab to give me what I consider a crystal clear window into the amp's sounds, voicing, and capabilities. I am consistently impressed with how smoothly and seamlessly Berg cabs speak across the entire frequency spectrum with no noticeable dips, peaks, or drop outs. Jim's engineering work is top notch in all respects.

Oh yeah, and my CN212 is great and gigs too!! :)

Here’s my “Jim” story. I recently purchased a used Forte HP from a member here.
I had a few question about the Bluetooth footswitch that was included in the purchase. I sent him a PM with a few question and he answered them immediately and with more info than I was expecting.
It’s used unit and really didn’t need to help me but he did.

That alone has made think about selling the HP and purchasing the HP2.

Well, Jim and Jule of Monique fame spent 30 min talking to each other to be sure the Monique and Berg IP agreed not only in voltage but other particulars. Then they called me back. Frankly that’s impressive. I’m still talking about them.

Not arguing that anyone’s tone goals may not differ. Customer service can’t get better!

When owners/makers/designers ask you what you hear, you’re in good hands.
