Bill Evans’ Interplay - I’m in love!

The bass over the intro and head on Bill Evans’ Interplay!!! It’s just so perfectly funky. Can’t stop playing it. The head’s pretty amazing, too (at least it will be when I can get it above 50 bpm!). It reminds me of some Breton folk music, with the rhythms and some of the intervals; makes you want to dance but you feel those dark undercurrents.

Don’t you just love it when a piece of music blows you away to the point where you hear it all night long in your sleep?

Everybody plays great on that record, but Percy and Freddie particularly. Do you have UNDERCURRENT?

I know My Funny Valentine and Darn That Dream from Undercurrent, but have never listened to the whole album. Thanks for the pointer. That version of My Funny V. is the only one I really like; the lyrics generally make me want to punch someone on the nose (metaphorically speaking! ;)).
