bill fitzmaurice omni15 question

Yes, the crossover is an essential part of that equation.

Whether you have the 1x15 option or the 2x12" option for the omni15, you still have to properly "cross" the full range signal from your amp into the appropriate speakers in your cabinet. It filters the lows to the woofer, mids to the midrange driver, and highs to the tweeter/horn if you have one.

There are other roles for xovers, but thats the main gist of it.

BFM forum is really very helpful, if you havent signed up yet.

Is this ******** but if i just want a single 15 in my omni 15 do i still need a crossover?this is my first cab so i thought id do it as simple as possible.cheers

You don't use a single 15 in an O15 unless it's being used as a pure subwoofer. If that is the case a crossover between it and the cab being used for the mids and highs is necessary.
