Bill lawrence p/j pickups audere classic help

I am upgrading my fender cow poke with a set of bill lawrence pickups. A p and a j. I am also installing an audere classic preamp. I was wondering if anyone could explain the wiring to me? I am trying to do this myself and i am not sure which wires go where.

The pickups have a white blue and black wire for each pickup (the p has a red and a green which get soldered together). The preamp has 3wires one for the common, one for the bridge hot and one for the neck hot. This is the audere classic model.

This seems to leave me with a lot of extra wires.

Please help.

Thank you.

According to [Invalid or Expired Link Removed] the blue is the shield so this goes to ground.
[DEL]White is the coil start
Black is the coil finish.[/DEL]
If you want the pick ups in normal parallel - [DEL]white goes to ground[/DEL] and[DEL] black goes to the pickup's hot on the pre[/DEL]. Common on the pre will go to the ring on your stereo jack socket so it is shorted to ground when you insert a mono jack.

Edit: Well apparently there are two standards - depending on your pick ups. The other (which seems more standard) is White is hot and black is cold (ground). Either way should work fine - but White as hot makes more sense.

Tie both grounds to the common. Think about this in a passive bass, the ground from the pickups tie to the back of a pot. All the pots are grounded together. There is only 1 ground... just multiple places where you can solder to it... Same deal here but you are just connecting them to the ground point made available by the pre.

Dave has excellent preamp installation instructions on his site by the way...

4Mal,
excuse my remedial wiring experience. This is my first wiring attemt ever.

I am confuse with all the colors. The p pickup has a red and a green wire which get tied together. Do the blue wires get grounded to the bass?

If so that leaves me with 2 blacks and 2 whites (one set from each pickup).

Which ones go to which wires on the audere pre amp?

On the audere i have 3 wires:

green/white for the pickup common
black white for the bridge pickup hot
blue/white for the neck pickup hot

what gets connected to what????

Please help.

Thank you
