Bill Lawrence - R.I.P.

Oh...my...so sad....I just got correspondence from Becky on Nov. 1, that the p-pup I ordered 2 weeks prior had just shipped...and now this.

So very sad. As soon as I wire it in I will pay tribute to him somehow...rock it proud.

Oh no! He was a visionary who walked the walk and talked the talk. I still have a Bill Lawrence pickup in my favorite electric guitar, a coil-splittable blade humbucker that I installed back in 1983. Fabulous pickup. And I had one of his blade humbucking bass pickups installed in a homemade fretless beast that I built when I worked in a woodshop...always felt that pickup was way better than the instrument I'd installed it in!

His contributions to the industry will be missed. RIP.

OMG! Me, too. I just got my P46 in the mail today. It might also have been one of his last handmade ones. Jeez, my heart really goes out to his Becky and his family. They have lost their Bill. The world of music has lost a giant in the field.

I may not keep this bass forever, but one thing for sure.....I'm keeping this PICKUP forever. It will go in every successive "P-bass" I ever own.

RIP Bill Lawrence....

Damn that is really sad. My prayers go out to his family and friends. He sure made a lot of people happy. Are they still going to carry on his legacy and keep making them or will production stop now I wonder. Not to sound heartless, I'm just curious.

Hey that looks like mine! Mine's at the shop getting put in, needed to do some routing because the pup is deeper than what I had in there before. I asked the guy to wire it so that I could switch between split and humbucker, looking forward to hearing it in a couple weeks.
