Billie Jean is kicking my @SS!

I remember the Seeker by the Who hurt my hands when I first learned it. Its not a fast or hard song or anything but the repetitive hammer ons got to me after a while for some reason. Lots of times I just do a slide for the one on the E in the main riff and that feels a lot better to me.

if Billie Jean is kicking your @SS!, you may wanna try comedown by bush. now that's a doozie to try to get through the whole song..... definitely an investement for a loooper!! lol!!
seriously, practice practice practice and relax. always rest if fatigued - they don't have 'bass heroes' for a reason:smug:

Yes Billie Jean can cramp a big man's hand pretty fast, but learn Light My Fire (Doors) and play the whole keyboard/guitar solo bassline without a mistake.

I don't think it cramps your hand like Billie Jean, but you'll find it kinda hard to focus and play all those simple Am & Bm arpeggios...

Try using open strings as much as you can. Try and get a live video to see how these guys arr playing it, what fingering they use and what position they play in. There always 4 ways to play the same thing, these guys are doing it night after night and have figured out the path of least ressistance.

The last band I played with did Light My Fire; the one I just auditioned for yesterday had me run through Billie Jean. I likes em both. :)

There aren't very many openings to stretch or shake your hand with those two. I just practiced and built up to them so I was relaxed the whole time.
