I recall seeing The Concert For Bangla Desh in a theatre one Summer afternoon long ago...Preston's performance was killer!

Just heard the news. Very sad.

If anyone is interested in checking out his amazing talent, he is featured on the somewhat recent 'Concert for George' DVD.... one of the greatest concert DVD's of all time IMO. Besides Paul and Ringo playing on stage together for the first time since the break-up of the Beatles, Billy totally smokes on 'Isn't it a Pity' and other tunes. Amazing.

He seemed like a very nice person also.

I was 11 when I first heard "Outta Space" ...followed shortly thereafter onto the charts and radio by "Space Race".

I own (and covet) my Hohner D-6 Clavinet probably because of Billy.

A brilliant musical talent, and one funkyassmutha.

RIP Bill. Thanks for the funk.

What a day!

As for Billy dying at 59, I'd say he got beat out of a few years. He came across on TV as a really nice guy with his infectious smile and the way he spoke. What a drag.
