I played the demo and I'm going to get a Xbox 360 Elite in the fall.

The only problem with Bioshock is that it's keeping me from playing Blue Dragon! And the new Blazing Angels demo is quite addictive too.

very hard for me to but a judge on them, something was just really creepy and messed up about System Shock 2. I'd say this is the System Shock 2 of this generation though. The story is top-notch the Diary entries (like the journal entries you picked up through out the game) add so much depth and story. Really if you liked SS2 get Bioshock all the best similarities are there but still keeps the game original.

Thanks for the comparison. I played through the demo a few times and I have to say, I'm quite impressed. Great atmosphere, graphics, voice acting, story. Very slick. One thing I especially liked was how it keeps your health bar low. Sure you get a lot of health packs, but you are always in danger of dying quickly if you don't keep your wits about you.

I've been lamenting about how well done single player games are dead in favor of generic multiplayer FPS and RTS clones recently. This looks to me like an excellent homage to it's old-school roots. And it's even a PC/console crossover too... those aren't typically very good because they typically forfeit the best advantages of both platforms to adhere to the lowest common denominator.

I definitely plan on purchasing this one.
