- I still think you are right about what he would say. I also think all those chromatic be-bop lines and "Buddy Bolden" sounds phrased like a tight -assed classical player makes him sound like an Avant Garde classical player or an improvisor. I think it sounds great, but I don't think it sounds like he thinks it sounds!
I'd love to play with him if he wasn't so uptight...
