Blend of pickups

Hi fellow bassists,
since i rewired my bass from active to passive, i cant hear any difference between lets say bridge 100% / neck 80% and bridge 100% / neck 10%. Is that a common problem with passive basses or did i just wired something wrong? I have only 2x volume now, not even tone pot, so i dont think that i messed something. I am using two humbuckers with coils in paralel, and both humbuckers are also in paralel. Is there any solution to this?

try not to set any pickup to 100%, instead try ratios like 80%/60% etc

It's pretty normal to see weird behavior from dual volume passive setups when the pots are not set to matching levels. Like Torrente said, reduce the level of the pickup you want to be dominant to allow finer adjustment of the other.

so no difference between neck down a little and neck down almost all the way; what are you hearing, both pickups or one pickup?

if the problem is that one pickup disappears as soon as you turn it down even a little, then swap out your volumes from audio taper to linear taper, you'll get a bit more adjustment range right at the top.

walterw: as soon as i turn one of pickups just a little bit down, i hear only the other that is 100% on.
