Double Bass Blister issue

I've been getting very large/uncomfortable blisters on my right hand plucking fingers. Is this the way I'm playing, my strings, am I playing to hard? I've been playing a bit harder than usual to get a punchier tone, and I've been really pleased. Does this happen to anyone else? Any suggestions? thanks in advance.

Had the same problem when I first started out.
I was plucking way too hard to compensate for a weak amp.
Be kind to your hands, after carpel tunnel surgery on both hands (from my day job), I find that a lighter touch and an amp with enough power can get any sound you could want.:)
