Due to a freak accident involving falling cardboard boxes and a shorted speaker cable, I have blown my 800RB. The output was shorted, the amp distorted and blew a fuse. It blew the replacement fuse on power up so I unplugged it.
I have called all of my local music shops and they don't work on them locally, so I am trying to find a good technician to send this guy to. It has been very reliable for the last 10+ years and I need to make sure that it will be taken care of. If anyone has insight on a great technician please let me know, no matter where I have to ship it to.
    Thanks!

  2. i would think the best bet would be to send it to GK.
i paid a TECH who just boxed it up and send it to GK.
    cut on the middle man.

    how long was it gone?
should I call the gk sales number on Monday or is there a better method to get ahold of them?

  4. Tel: 209-234-7300

    cell em up
    ask for the tech dept.
    they will let you know...

mine was gone for a awhile, but i beleive that was full thelocal techs fault.
im pretty sure once GK got it, it was fixed in a timley manner.

Several years ago the boost circuit in my '87 400RB needed repairs --local amp techs "fixed" it but did not solve the problem. I dropped it off at the GK factory for repairs (I live about an hour away). Less than a week later they had it done, for a very reasonable price--they even replaced the a missing voicing filter "chiclet" switch--and charged me only for labor. It's worked perfectly, through many gigs and rehearsals, ever since.
