Solid up and coming pop singer/writer. She is a good bass player and is pretty influential with younger players.
Nice smoky voice too.

She’s talented and smart and will become a superstar. She’s been at it for at least 5-6 years.

Well, Fender believes in her enough that she has a sig Artist bass.

She is the first woman to have a Fender artist model bass. That’s extraordinary on its own.

I was introduced to her by the daughter of a friend. She picked up the bass because of Blu. The fact that lots of people on here don't know her speaks more about the demographics of Talkbass.com than anything else.

We all know that there are plenty of great female bass players out there, but very few speak to a younger, female audience. Blu DeTiger does. And I wish her all the success she can get it. If we don't want handmade music to die out, we need more young players like that.

Good for her. Still don't see it. It sounds like she was best available in the demographic Fender was targeting. Doesn't make her a star. Asked my kid... Never heard of her either.. Like I said. Best of luck to her.

What I can't stand is having person xyz crammed down my throat and getting attitude because I don't think they are all that. Set your bar as low as you like. I'll set my own thank you

MeShell Ndegeocello, Esperanza Spalding, Linda May Oh etc. these are some of the best in the world no matter the gender. Quite the low bar! I see so many new bands with awesome female bassist these days. If Blue Dr Tiger was "forced down your throat" you would have heard of her.

she's a great player, glad to see Gen Z and fans are still loving the bass. I like her sig bass too, it's essentially a Lakland with the MM-J setup, cool finish, it's different than just the "sig" basses that precision or jazz with a different paint job. congrats to Blu!

If you've been living off grid and paying attention to nothing maybe. Mohini Dey is famous worldwide and any bassist worth their salt knows of Kinga Glyk. As for Blu DeTiger, she is very much in the public eye and only at the start of her career. She is also one helluva bassist.

Blu was one of a handful of young bassists featured in a cover story on Bass Player magazine like two or three years ago. Davie504 was pictured on the cover IIRC. It was titled "The Future of Bass" or something along those lines. That was the first time I'd heard of her. Very cool to see her getting a signature bass now and even more publicity. The track that Killing Floor posted was pretty catchy.

I'm definitely not in her demographic group, but I was aware of Blu prior to the introduction of her signature bass. There are lots of women bassists who have paid more dues and may have "earned" a signature model Fender ahead of her, but I don't begrudge her the honor.

I remember c2017 when I lived in Brooklyn she was doing DJ sets and playing bass along with them. She was rocking a blue Ric back then.

She’s not a household name but that chick is a solid player who’s been going at it hard for years now. Awesome to see her gain success.

Also, don’t understand the negative comments. as bass players and musicians, shouldn’t we be rooting for those keeping the bass/music alive.
