Blue steel went to hell.

Used Blue Steels on my Strat for half of forever, it feels like. Bought a set for a bass recently and it had a dud A string. Sigh. I guess I won't be doing that again.

I will return a set of strings in a minute if it isn't good. No way am I on the hook for others' shoddy goods.

Thanks. Played them in the 80's when they were new and would make you think Rotos were gentle on your fingers, but JEEZ, were they some raw, almost brutal strings with a huge personality.
I guess I'll just stick with 66's now that I'm back playing live again.

This thread is interesting to me. A couple of weeks ago I bought my first set of Blue Steels (from bassstringsonline.com, of course) and am quite impressed with them. Nice sound and very comfortable feel. I might have to try the Apex strings to see what I'm missing.
