Anyone else having trouble opening up the forum on this website? I haven't been able to get in for 5 or 6 days now.

i'm going through withdrawls... help us basshawg! It's everywhere..been off for almost a week now. I can't even get a reply from the administrator. Just wait and see, I guess.
Basshawg finally got in touch with the administrator yesterday, and he (the admin) was going to look into the problem last night. Still no forum this morning, though.
Sigh!

I registered there about two weeks ago. I got the automatic reply stating that I would later receive an e-mail from the admin to allow me to start posting. Never got one. Tried logging on anyway but no luck. Sent an E-mail to the admin and still no reply. Went to check the forum after that and it hasn't worked for me since. Is it all my fault?
Wow glad to finally see I'm not the only one. Hope it comes up soon, I just got off all my meds and I feel them coming back on.
F Y I - See Wineaux's post above - Greg aka Basshawg is aware of the problem & working with admin to fix it - someday - maybe - hang in there . . .

And I'd like to apologize for any snobbishness I may have displayed toward non-jazz/orchestral styles here in the past. There was a time when the forum was younger when wayward BG players would start trolling threads for fun about things like "pogo stick endpins?" and "using straw for bowhair?" and the like; these folks usually pretended to be bluegrass or rockabilly players, but were just trying to rattle the cages of the guys in the DB forum. I fear I may have used a moderatorial blunderbuss at the time to combat this issue when only a sniper's rifle was warranted, and may have sprayed some actual Bluegrass and Rockability players with the disdain that only the real trolls deserved. If I did - and it's likely that I did - I apologize, as this was not my intent.
Having had my proverbial backside kicked on bluegrass/roots gigs in the past few years, I can certainly say that the guys I was playing with have my utmost respect as musicians. Most of these gigs were "mixed" bluegrass/roots/jazz gigs where the occasions called for all of the above and more, and both the grass guys and the jazz guys always seemed interested in helping each other out when they could on the gig rather than vibing the players playing in the unfamiliar style/material. I'd like to promote that same vibe here if possible.
Well said CF. Having walked the line between the various "schools" this has been my experience too.
@Scotter: not your fault. This has happened a few times before (though not for this long AFAICR). It's a combination of old software and very sparse maintenance. Such is the labor of love I guess.

and have learned some good stuff from here!!
even though i eat and sleep bluegrass. and BBP is my home page. it is still nice, to be able to, search out of the box!.. there is to much info out there to soak in!!

I play bass with a guitar player who loves Bluegrass. I enjoy more classical music. His bluegrass + my bowing = great results and a unique sound

I, for one, couldn't handle detox any longer. I got the shakes, so I Invalid Link Removed to tide us over until BGBP comes back online.
I'd love to see you all over there. Yes, you will have to register an account, and yes, there is basically NO content yet, but maybe with your help we can get it rolling before too long. This way we have somewhere to go to cover BLUEGRASS BASS and related stuff that may not fit here on TB.
