I need help. There is one double pack of pickups on my Epiphone Junior guitar, and while I haven't hooked up my new tube head yet to it, because I need to build the cabinet first, I read reviews on the Epiphone Junior, and the weakness is the pickup. The sound is, supposedly, screechy and brittle and exactly what I don't want. I'm looking for a smooth, liquid blues sound. What capacitor and resistor switches have you performed to make this happen? Thank you. (When the cabinet is built I promise to give a review of the tube head here. Both how it performs with a guitar and a bass.)
For the P-bass I switched out the factory capacitor for a .22 uF capacitor and the sound is much better.
