Bluesrock playalongs for bass

Hi, I'm looking for a collection of blues and bluesrock playalongs. Simple 12 bar 3 chords blues in more keys, one chord stuff Lee Hooker/Willie Dixon style, uptempo rock like Stevie Ray Vaughan, whatever.
I'd prefer a professional book with records, but any good YouTube link is also welcome.

If you use blues bass "backing track" instead of "play along" in your you tube search you get better results

Lee Hooker and some other guys you posted are totally different blues styles from players like Willie Dixon and Stevie Ray Vaughn. Hill Country to my knowledge doesn't have a lot of written material, it is extremely oral tradition. My tip would be to simply learn the key of the song and play some patterns you hear. Junior Kimbrough music is extremely different from RL Burnside's even though both being Hill Country.

I don't own the book but Ed Friedland book of blues is really good. There is also a book of Blues bible bass lines have no idea how accurate it is. I would say do it the old way learn the pattern of 12 bar blues and see what fits. For example Killing Floor Blues by Howlin Wolf and Shake for me by him as well both share the exact same bassline. Ed Friedland basic blues book goes into that idea of learning the patterns for each style of blues. You will see lots of repeat of basslines in the 12 bar blues.

Now back onto early Delta and Hill Country, that's gonna be a lot of improv imo, no one plays RL Burnside or Kimbrough the same way as compare to Delta Blues legends, that music is very it's own style, every video I watch of Burnside playing live there seems to be a different way to play his songs. I think using the ear is the best. Also listen to T-Model Ford live, some cool loud bass playing in those live recordings.

Anyway in my long ramble on the Blues, why not download mosies and upload the song and remove the bass? I did that with Kimbrough songs and play along with them. If you look on Spotify there are tons of Blues empty tracks for bass plus on Youtube. I highly recommend removing the bass with an AI software and playing along on a bassless version. Ed Friedland and the Hal Leonard Blues bible is the only thing for me I can think of as a blues book and bible with lines and patterns in them. They may come with play alongs.

I'm totally self taught on bass. A major early lesson for me was trying to figure out by ear just about every song on Savoy Brown's "Street Corner Talking" which is quintessential blues rock, IMHO.



It's got lots of 12 bar blues based songs, but with plenty of great deviations from the standard 12 bar patterns and riffs that make it interesting and informative from a learning perspective.

Google “bass karaoke” and see if they have the songs you want. Karaoke versions or something like that is the site and they have covers without bass.
