For those using bluetooth page turners with their tablets:
Which ones do you like? I am currently using an iRig BlueTurn, which has been fine but has a few drawbacks: If I dwell on the switch for a little too long, it can advance 2+ pages quickly, and there is no way to program the switching type; it only uses alkaline batteries- no rechargeable.

Has anyone tried either the Coda Music Stomp or the AirTurn BT500S-2? I’m interested in these two because of the solid form factor and the switches that are relatively quiet but are supposed to give some tactile feedback when depressed. Thanks for your input!

I use an AirTurn pedal, the reddish one with the effect pedal metal buttons. I had two of the one ones with the tabs and they tend to send multiple pages and eventually quit working altogether.

I use both Airturn ped pro and that cheap ‘Chocolate’ 4switch (name?)

Airturn is silent but only two switch. (Also I found the connection with iPad on metal stand intermittent??)

Chocolate works great, nice price but a little noisy clicking for quiet stage

I used to use an AirTurn, which worked very well for me, but now I remake all my music sheets to fit one page on my iPad Pro 12.9 inch. I also switched from forScore to MusicSheets iOS, which I find to have a better interface, and especially because it has totally autonomous libraries.

I use a stomp. Works great. Build like a boutique pedal with a metal casing and proper foot switches, so is pretty bulletproof.
Can run on batteries but battery access is four screws, plus you never know when you battery will die, so I just keep a one spot with it in its box.
Also has a usb out that can power my iPad.

Recommended.

I use a simple and cheapish Lekato. Been using it for over three years with no issues. It doesn’t “click” when you press it, but I definitely feel it work/engage under my foot when I press it. Have never had it turn two or more pages at once unless I tapped it that many times.

I also currently use the iRig Blue Turn. It is very simple and has worked for the last 7-8 years for me without a problem. It uses AAA batteries, but gives a lot of advance warning (> 1 hour) when they are low.

I used the AirTurn Duo before that, but had two of them fail on me during gigs. The first one was replaced under warranty. The second one had the entire charging system break when I carefully (as always) removed the charging cable. Fortunately, there was a Guitar Center not too far from the theater. I had to run out between the matinee and evening performances and got the iRig BlueTurn.

Since the broken AirTurn pedal was out of warranty, the company sold me the central unit for half-price, but I haven’t used it since I got the IRig BlueTurn. Also, I found the finicky algorithm for turning the AirTurn off rather frustrating.

Not specific to any particular brand of Bluetooth page turner, but a word of warning - I was playing a production of Once On This Island. Right before a prominent bass entrance directly after a page turn a low charge warning for my Apple Pencil came on the screen of my iPad Pro 12.9 inch, generation 2.The warning overrode the iRig BlueTurn, and I wasn’t able to turn the page until after I cleared the warning with a finger tap to the screen. It only took a second or two, but it was enough for me to miss my entrance and get a puzzled look from the conductor. Now, I always make sure that the Apple Pencil or any other nearby BlueTooth device is fully charged before the downbeat.

I use the Coda Stomp. Best page turner out there by a mile. The real footswitches and the rigidity of the metal casing make a world of difference.
This is what I am leaning toward, but with one hesitation: if I am turning pages during a relatively quiet passage, will the sound of the switch draw attention? I am only using a page turner for accompanying choral groups and playing theater. In these instances, I may have to use the tap/swipe.

Thanks for all of the replies!

No, the switches are not latching, so there’s no click. It’s very quiet.

I second the iRig blue turn. It is affordable and works well with an Apple ipad pro. I used it in the pit for a recent run of Rocky Horror Show and for another show and rehearsals this past summer and the batteries are still good. I keep an extra set of AAA's in the bag in case the warning light ever comes on, has not so far.

I have an old pair of AirTurn pedals, but I don’t currently use them, as I use only single-page charts and not multi-page scores. That said, I noticed in my copy of forScore that if you have forScore Pro (the annual subscription) and a suitable tablet, you can use head/mouth/wink gestures to turn pages—no pedal needed.

Has anyone successfully used a Bluetooth page turner with ForScore on iPhone? My pedal (Airturn BT-200) works great on my iPad, but not on my phone and I'm looking for one to use there. I have a huge iPad Pro, but sometimes purely for aesthetics I'd rather read simple chord charts off of my phone than set up my massive iPad.

In what way does it not work on the iPhone? Does it connect? Before trying to connect it to the iPhone, did you turn off Bluetooth or “Forget this device” on the iPad?

For example, I use a pair of BT earphones on both devices, and if BT is enabled on both devices, the earphones will connect to the last device they were connected to. So before removing the phones from their case, I turn off BT on the device that I don’t want them to connect to. In your case, turn off BT on the iPad before powering on the AirTurn. Then, with BT enabled on the iPhone, connect/pair the AirTurn. I hope this helps.

I’ve used a Coda Stomp for 2 seasons of concert band rehearsals and some gigs and I have still not changed the battery. It also has the option of using DC power, and powering an iPad. It is solid. The switches don’t click, but they are not completely silent, so it could be a problem in a studio with some acoustic instruments.

I am using it with my regular size iPad with no issues.

BIG downside is that it does not work with Windows 11, I have a larger Windows tablet I would have preferred to use sometimes, so avoid Coda if you only use Windows.

Coda are now offering the Stomp Mini, with one footswitch which is probably better than the stomp if you want something smaller, and has a USB rechargeable battery:
