Hi everyone. I'm not sure if anyone here is familiar with Bob Glaub. He is a very well known bass player in Los Angeles and has played on the album Atlantic Crossing by Rod Stewart and on The Pretender by Jackson Browne.

He has played Lakland/Dan Lakin bass guitars for several years, but also owns a Washburn acoustic bass and a 1964 Precision Bass.

I wanted to show you a video of him at Norman's Rare Guitars in Los Angeles playing a Teisco bass.

Teisco. Made in Japan. Teisco had a range of amps and guitars sold in the USA.

Bob Glaub is a GREAT player. I saw a video of Johnny Paycheck playing one of these on a live video, he was actually a very good bass player. That Teisco sounds great. It sounded good with Paycheck too. Actually I found it, was pretty easy, i opened for him once but he was playing guitar:

Teisco's were re-branded by Sears, Montgomery Wards, etc. I played in several 60's garage bands and Tesico's were the only guitars/basses used. The action and quality was hit or miss but the styling was 100%!
Both of these Pro's show that they look awesome and can play great! I'm always looking on-line for one but the decent one's still fetch a pretty good price...at least for my budget.

This is another example of what is possible if you play and stop worrying about looks and brand names.
