Body shape copyright

Hi,i allways was building basses for personal use.
So i could do whatever i want and like.
Now,i am asking to build a bass to sell, with a body shape from an other famous bass guitar.
I am not looking for trouble,so i have to see what is better for me to do.
If i do this, exactly the same body shape,is there any chance to have problems with the law?
I am not talking for headstock.
Just for a bolt on body

Depends on who it is you're copying - Fender and Gibson are probably safe enough, but Rickenbacker in particular has been known to go after copiers.
