OK ALL YOU NON BELIEVERS---I DID IT AND IT WORKED LIKE A CHARM!!
I had 3 sets of strings rolled up and laying about so i dropped em in wayer and boiled them for about 15min. (you could see the scum rise to the top noy too much just a little) I took em out and wiped them dry..I put one of the boiled sets on my Fender P and KAPOW-Ringing like a BELL once again...I played a gig with two basses with the boiled strings last night and NO problems or issues-Lasted through the night and Im going to wipe them w alcohol prior to tonights show and see how it goes.. BUT like I said in the beginning-IF I GET ONE MORE GIG OUT OF A SET I BOILED I FEEL LIKE IM SAVING 20 BUCKS AND RECYCLING IN A SENSE! I wont do this over and over but Ill be cycling new and boiled to save a little dough from now on, YOUD BETTER BELIEVE IT!!
