bongo colours, help choosing...

hi,
ok im pretty set on buying a bongo HH 6string before the end of the year but the ernie ball website doesnt show the colours too clearly, could anyone with one please post a pic and the names of what the paintjob and pickguard are etc.. ive looked through the bongo threads but most people dont label the pictures and since most of the posts are over two years old i thought this would be more usefull.

do they make bongos in light green anymore? ive seen some amazing looking ones but it seems like theyre discontinued and i dont see why, perfectly fits the weird look they have.

so far just from guessing i think im heading towards a black paintjob with an albalone pickguard so pics of that combo would be usefull but anything and everything really, i rarely buy new basses so ive gotta find something ill like longterm.
thanks in advance to anyone whos bothered

the light green ones were "Dargie delights" (i don't know the spelling)

they are special editions that cost rediculous amounts

why are you getting a Bongo 6 HH anyway?

i plan on getting one at a later date, in electric blue with a blue swirl P/g

haha yeh i did, i hovered dont worry,
what i dont like is that they dont show the bongo in the colours they show different basses and geetars with those colours so i cant see a bongo with the colour i want and the pickguard i want at the same time.., as i said boring i know

cheers for the info on dthe dargie delights things. dunno if id be bothered paying extra just for a green one, just im not a fan of alot of the colours they do ill probably end up with a plain enough black one.

as to why i want a Bongo 6 HH, i love musicmans.. i have a sub and i love it but i play a six string as my main bass and prefer it to four strings and the only six string musicman do as far as i know is the bongo, also ive been looking at reviews videos etc and i love the sound eq all that jazz so it seems perfect for me. as to the HH configuration i asked around for opinions as to what would suit my style of music and sound i wanted and most people recommended that. id say itd be easy to get my sound etc. im not a huge fan of the looks but its definately growing on me

any reason you ask? just curious?

yeah just wondering, i like to see why others are also interested in the same instrument as me,

i love six string basses, even though currently i don't own one, i use it just like John Myung (well i will, but i've played several)

I saw a PURPLE bongo six in a shop window, used, but the bass control didn't work =S

they made like 13 (thats what i heard but i have no basis on that number) dargie Bongo 6 basses

personally i really hate black basses apart from ibanez ones and jazz basses

you should get it in orange with an orange swirl pick guard

Now THAT would be a funky looking bass ;)

yeh i agree black can be boring but out of the colours theres not much i like left, i see loads on forums with great colours but they seem to have discontinued every one im vaguely interested in:P

purple would be perfect, black pickguard or something
the oranges they have i dont like too much but yeh i want a funly colour.

i use my six string more for easy reaching than myung'ish stuff but i like that its there if i want to do that. i like fours but feel weird on 5's

yeh tho i see theres many bongo threads here so thought someone might post some pics, atleast to show off:P but no doesnt look like it.

over here theres nothing, most music shops only buy beginner cheapo basses for fear people wont buy anything better which makes me and everyone else buy from the internet and the vicious circle continues.

Yeah, I can imagine. It's like that here too at a lot of the smaller music stores. Even Guitar Center tends to carry a lot of beginner basses because that's where they make their money.

You need to purchase two: one in "Stealth Black", the other in "Candy Red" and then swap out the hardware. Because Candy Red with black hardware... If only MusicMan let buyers choose hardware color (which they make in black for the Stealths and Gold for Olive Green and some of the BFRs) I'd likely move heaven & earth for a Candy Red w/ Black Hardware... :scowl:

awww i hate the candy red but ive always hated red basses and most things really but i do like the stealth look a bit. tho i think i prefer silver for hardware myself with black as a close second but yeh they should do that especially since it takes months to get the basses ordered it wouldnt really make much difference... well im only guessing but still.

i wish they did some matt finishes like the subs.. i love that im not a gloss man

ive only seen one pic of the olive gold it looked pretty cool, kinda brown... anyone got any PICTURES!!!!!!?!?!?!?!

ive looked on bass central again theres only a few tho its better than the ernie ball site for colour the tpg sites pretty good but still not everything tho.. but big help much appreciated having a look now
