Bootsy-licious!

Anybody have any details on the Official dumping by Washburn of the Signature Bootsy bass? Did it have something to do with his signing on with Import-monger Traben? I picked up a painted neck and body assembly, VERY high quality workmanship and fretwork and did what Washburn couldn't/wouldn't do....it's the best one I have ever seen and I discovered by accident and necessity that it fits perfectly in the longest Coffin case. Washburn was completely disinterested in any help, so I worked from photos found online. I decided for the more subtle (haha) round abalone control knobs in lieu of stars....and the white EMG set was a deal maker for me! This bass ROCKS....BIG baseball bat C-profile neck is not for the small of hand....otherwise, a dream bass.....still cockeyed from laying all thos self-adhesive stone which I actually found from a Canadian source....Kudos to WD for hooking me up with the pickguard ! Everybody else who was no help at all, KISS MY A$$ !

He is with Warwick now.

In an Eddie -like move, he now resides with Warwick, his third company in as many years....Traben, German for garbage (No, not really) was his in-between company. I find it ridiculous that a company known for it's excellent German handworking of gorgeous exotic hardwoods and tonewoods would put a pearl white paintjob on something and put stars all over it!

I am CERTAIN that MY beloved second family at Alembic, the Wickershams, would NEVER consider such a cheeseball move....that coming from the dude who owns the bass pictured above!:rollno:

umm I thought he'd jumped ship yet again and gone to Warwick.....nice bass btw, I've always had an irrational hankering for one of those.

I loved the idea of it....then as I was completing it, I began to fall in love with the bass. Let me go on record as saying, Bootsy and I could not be MORE different bass players if we tried....but I still LOVE this bass. I have listed it on Craigslist at a modest profit in the past and with two agreed buyers on two separate occasions, I sent them home empty-handed! Whatever you do, my friend DON'T BUY ONE ! ! ! Hahaha!:eyebrow:

Attached pic is from a NYC Restaurant where I played a portrait unveiling for Kristin Chenoweth and Sean Hayes with my Bootsy, which got more attention than I did.....YES, that's award winning actor Alan Cumming in the foreground....who knew he was a rocker????
