When you say drug addicts do you mean dangerous drugs like heroin, tobacco and alcohol or useful and healthy drugs like cannabis? Because your entire view on the subject might be clouded by nearly a hundred years of false propaganda.
Anyhow, if there is a song you like enough to listen to on loop, I'm sure you like it enough to learn it and play along to it. I don't play bass as much as I did before, but when I find a song that I like THAT much, I learn it and then post a video of me playing it on YouTube. It's hella fun!
