Bose PAS L1 - is this for real?

If its just for you and your bass, then it might be hard to justify buying.

I use just the set up you mentioned, L1 and 4 bass modules.

However I use it not only for my bass, but for lead vocals and for our e-drummer.

So, using like that it actually saved me money, since it doubles as my vocal/drum PA.

It is mainly:

convenient
sounds fairly good at close range
spreads the mids~highs ok
eliminates(for medium~small gigs) sound gear/monitors

Took me a LONG time(months, using soundcheck and gigtime only) to find a bass and develop patches that "work" with it. A REAL good part of it is convenience/flexibility. The fun job below would be all but impossible with "regular" gear:

Works in a LARGE room if it's not super absorber. Here's a HUGE ballroom(hard walls & ceiling):

I'd prefer ACME's and/or more "air movement". 99% of the audience doesn't know or care. If you(the bass player) sound as good as their car stereo, iPOD, home stereo, jambox, etc. then they mostly don't care.
