Anyone have any experience with this for DB? I have one of the L1 systems and I've gotten pretty good results with it. I'm intrigued on the S1.

I took my upright bass into Guitar Center and tried it and it was a definite no go.

I was doing a shopping centre gig on upright bass the other week (yes tragic but pays the bills...) and there was a Bose dealership right where we had set up. I was playing acoustically and having to belt the crap out of my bass to be heard against amplified guitar and alto sax. This guy comes out from the store and offers me this little battery powered amp to play through. I fiddled with the eq a little but the big difference was with the tone match button. Sounded great actually with a nice round bottom end. I've used battery amps in these situations before and now i dont bother as every one I've used sounds like poopie. But this was something approaching a good sound, though of course without much volume.
Bose just announced that the battery is now included free (maybe a limited time promotion?).
I've found that the trick with small amps like that is using a high pass filter and a limiter to keep it from bottoming out plus not expecting a lot of bottom end.
