Who builds cabs these days

I purchased two JBL K140’s earlier this year (original cones!), and Iike to find someone to build a couple 1x15’s or maybe even a 2x15. In the past, I had LDS build me the same cab but I’m not sure he is still doing these things anymore. I want to pair these with my 72 Ampeg V4B, so a width match (26” or so) and cosmetics would be important. Rear loaded for the JBL.

Curious if anyone has a suggestion?

WattFab (aka Watt Fabrication) near Philadelphia built me a 1x15” a number of years ago, it was super solid and sounded about as good as any other box built around an EVM15B could. Not sure if they’re still around though; they seem to have zero web presence.

Why rear loaded? Having to unscrew the backs of old Fender, Gibson, Kustom, and earlier Sunn cabs was the bane of my existence as a kid(well, one of them).

I guess it doesn’t have to be? I know JBL’s are slightly larger than typical 15” cab openings. The one Don made me about 10 years ago was rear loaded.

Side note…I do have a 69 Ampeg B25 cab. Visually, it checks all the boxes but it is so thin and awkward to move. I did some crack math several months ago and I think I can seal the huge slot ports on it and then add a rear port to get in the range for the JBL, but would prefer two 1x15’s

Give a local millwright a good build sheet, it’s not rocket surgery. Cost me like thirty bucks plus plywood cost for two flat pack kits when I did that a decade so ago.
