Boss Buffer Q

This isn't an anti Buffer or pro Buffer post.
My question is this. If you have a boss guitar pedal in your bass signal chain, will the bypassed buffered tone suitable for bass when the pedal is off? Or is the buffer circuitry significantly different in "bass" pedals?

The buffer is almost universally the same circuit block in all Boss pedals. It is full range and is not intended to be part of the 'effect.'
