Hi,

I saw a YouTube clip of the Boss Enhancer Limiter and I liked what I heard.

However, I don't know if it was the guys playing, his bass or the amp. Does anyone like this pedal, will it work with my EBS MultiComp?

The "enhancer" part is just a mid-scoop. The "limiter" part is a compressor that can serve as a limiter at certain settings. If you need a higher ratio than the EBS can provide, then you might consider replacing the EBS with the LMB-3. If you don't need a higher ratio, then the LMB-3 will serve no purpose for you--since a mid-scoop can be obtained using the EQ on your amp.

I have both, use one on my main board (EBS) and the Boss on my other board.

Like them both pretty well, but never use the "enhance" function on the Boss

:) ... You should not need both together as stated unless you really want to squash the signal

WARNING, the LMB-3 makes a tiny little click noise when the limiter turns on. It isn't noticeable if you are slapping/popping, but it is annoying if you are trying to get a smooth sound when playing with your fingers. Other than that and the useless 'Enhance' knob it is a nice utility.

The "enhancer" part is just a mid-scoop...

is that what it's doing? i've had one for years and never actually knew exactly what it does till now, i thought it was just boosting a particular frequency.
i dunno if it's actually useless, mine sometimes ventures all the way round to ten o'clock, but it's certainly wasn't a selling point of the pedal, i bought it cos it was the only bass compressor i could find in sound control in my pre internet days.

blue - as you already have a compressor, i'd advise saving the cash, as this won't do anything magical for you...

I don't think that it was just a bad unit, as I have heard other people (including Bongomania) talk about the click on the LMB-3.

I have never personally heard any artifact whatsoever when crossing the threshold with this pedal. But then again, I am primarily a pick player, so I'm using to hearing "clicks" :)

I love the LMB-3. I generally have it set for a pretty high threshold, ratio almost at ∞, and enhance all the way off. It does a great job taming the pedals that have huge volume spikes.
