Boss Katana 110w Vs Fender Rumble 100w

Amp just broke, need to have new one by tomorrow 5pm. Still need to practice with new amp. Basically local shop options in price range are a Boss Katana 110W and a Fender Rumble 100W. Could return either after the gig if they don't suit I'm just in a pinch right now. Looking for loudness here, don't really need all the fancy stuff on the Katana but could be cool if I kept it.

Well, if you're looking for loudness, you're looking at the wrong things.

But, I'd go with the Fender over the boss. Although it'd be enough to hear yourself, you should really look at the 15 or 210 if loudness is what you want. The single rumble 12 is fine if you're close to it, but if you drop the bass a little on the 15, it gets much louder than the 12.

A better choice would be to borrow or rent an amp and then buy something that is really suited to your needs.

Forgot to circle back, was able to get the tone I needed out of it last night. I also have pedals that I use so it was more of a plug in and fine tune. Practiced this morning as a group before the other boys went to the shore for the day. It held its weight kinda, if I max the volume it does not sound good no matter what I do, but a tick down and it's fine. Feel like I'm missing that last 5 cents I paid for but oh well. Oh and whoever said put the amp on a chair I wanna let you know you are a smart dude. Miss the ancient 350w rumble he had that we had been using tho. The guitarist immediately understood the situation and was not a worry and on another note the singer brought this old head unit thing that I never seen before. I forgot to get a pic. It was cool tho, gave his voice this antique vibe like an old blues wedding singer.
We are playing like a surf rock/sublime type thing. thank you everyone for info. If this works good as a pa as well im going to prolly return for a 500. I was informed they have a damaged one (the wood on the unit took a biiig dent in shipping) but works fine. It would only be $100 more to get it if I bring the 100 back.

As for the renting thing I pay $99 a month to rent from the shop already. That's where all my pedals come from. I can't rent anymore units from them at once right now. And I kinda need the pedals for the different groups I'm in currently. I don't want to buy a darkglass pedal outright, as well as 4 other pedals that are over $200. I can also switch them out whenever for other ones. The numbers work in my favor to just swap out super expensive pedals all the time instead of just buying them. I'd pay over what I pay a year to own them and then I wouldn't be able to try new things all the time as well. But yea renting an amp would have been the best idea. They didn't have a katana 210 there otherwise I would have just rented that and brought the darkglass back as the college kids metal band are home for the summer. And won't need that for a month or 2
