Boss LS-2 how to's, do's and don'ts....

I read in a review that the sample settings show some creative applications of the pedal. So I'm curious what I might be missing.

All I've ever seen are the diagrams in the manual showing how the modes work.

@gupjek That was tough to find. I forgot about these diagrams. I had to do a google image search to find this - total fluke - it was set to images from my last search and I forgot to change it back.

Just got a 2nd hand LS-2. Can't wait to take to the rehearsal room.
But does anyone know where I can download a pdf of the sample settings? I only found dead links and it seems that the official websites (us and europe) only provide the manual.

It's not much of a "sample settings" selection, but I suppose you mean the one page in the manual with some diagrams:

It's a pretty fun tool, just remember while you're playing around that some pedals will output out of phase which will cause cancellation if you try to mix back in dry signal.

Is it possible to run my upright on one channel, my bass on another, and have a separate FX loop as well? Alternatively, a bass + FX channel would be okay.

I’ve got a question... Are there any do’s and don’ts when using the LS-2 as a 2 channel mixer, as mentioned in the manual? Specifically sending the signal from 2 instruments to 1 amp, playing simultaneously? I’m thinking of situations like teaching (2 basses) or jam sessions (bass + guitar), outputting to a bass amp.

Btw this works in A+B mix > Bypass mode, with the instruments plugged into A / B Return And a jack lead plugged into the input.

does the LS-2 work like this? I'll plug my bass to the input and out to amp, loop A will be my drive loop and loop B will be my modulation loop, my drive loop will always be on, and I wanted my loop B to be switchable via LS-2, so does it mean I can use the B/bypass mode? will my loop A still be part of the chain?

^no. Loop A is only available when Loop A is selected by the Mode Selector Switch, so 'B/bypass mode' is either B loop or bypass.
If you want your drives always on, they need to be before of after the LS-2 and not in the loops.
