Boss OC-2 vs. MXR M-88 (not dlx)

I've got both the OC-2 and the Aguilar Octamizer. Both are great for different reasons. The OC-2 is the one for the classic "synth-y" octave sound. The Octamizer tracks flawlessly and is very easy to dial in a large variety of sounds.

(If I'm not mistaken, the M88 as well as the OC-2 are discontinued, correct?)

Yes, both the OC-2 and M88 are discontinued. I would probably change my order of preference to:1) OC-22) MXR M 2883) No octave pedal4) M88I really, really disliked the M88.

The OC-2 is a classic. I have heard, however, that they don't play nice with super hot active signals (this comes from J. Gwizdala's interview with Tim Lefebvre). You also might want to try MIJ vs. MIT. While IME they're EXTREMELY similar, there are subtle differences. In particular, I've noticed that the MITs have slightly more headroom (hotter) and have a tad bit more high freq response.

I've never had an issue with my OC-2 MIT or MIJ with any of my basses.

I gave the MXR Bass Octave Deluxe a try today. I absolutely loved it! The tracking was flawless. It tracks way better than my OC-2 (which I love dearly), it still sounds great on a low E and everything up to that! Fantastic! I think there might be another octave pedal in my future!

I currently play with the Octave Multiplexer and am planning on ditching it for an MXR BOD. The Multiplexer just drops too much volume.

I'm in a 2-piece. I split my baritone guitar signal with a Morley tripler, and currently send one sign language to a crossover and an Ampeg rig. I wanted to pitch shift to get a fuller warmer low end.
I used the Pitch Fork but got far to much warble on my guitar's Bstring... will this handle it much better?
