Hi Guys, have finally acquired this pedal after years of hounding after it!




Let me know what you think, and also for fellow OC-2 users, what kind of dials are you doing most commonly on this pedal? Still trying to find the sweet spot with it!

Congrats, sounds great! The common setting (and the one I found most usable) is OCT1 all the way up, OCT2 all the way down, and Effect Level at noon.

Sounds great. Really nice playing. I use three different settings

Full on gnarly:
Oct1 5 o'clock
Oct2 0
Direct 5 o'clock

Slightly more mellow Ashdown or MXR octave sound:
Oct1 between 2 and 3 o'clock
Oct2 0
Direct 5 o'clock

Keyboard bass sound (play above the 12th fret)
Oct1 5 o'clock
Oct2 0
Direct 0

Check out some Tim Lafabver videos. He's the master of the OC-2. He dials in only the Oct1, puts a fuzz after it and then plays bends to imitate those Stevie Wonder keyboard bass lines with the pitch-bend wheel.

Octave 1 upfront, direct and oct2 off. The bassists name escapes me right now but check out songs like "corner store" by the band Brazilian Girls. The bassist played on some Sco albums and whatnot.

I've found that one important aspect for sounds from the pedal is what tone you're putting into it. I roll the tone off, play closer to the neck, etc. but I'm mostly going for that sub dubby sound. Throw some grit after it and it gets very synthy.

My advice it to embrace the glitchiness of the OC-2. Everybody always bags on it saying it doesn't track well. I've tried a whole bunch of the supposed "better" octave pedals that track more accurately but none of them can do what the OC-2 does.

Yeah. I've noticed the glitchiness in places, but I also like the character it gives!

I usually run mine at Oct 1 around 3 oclock to max, clean about noon and Oct2 fully CCW/off. That is how I dig it.

Exactly how I set mine. Never use the 2-down setting.

I personally play very electronic based stuff, I use my OC2 often. I play with OCT1 100%, OCT2 0%, dry 0%. So basically I'm 100% OCT1. I love the sound of it. And yes, you do have to play quite high on the fretboard because I think this pedal was originally built for guitar. But it does sound very electronic, and that's why I use it.
