twos better than one yeh?

Wanted a what to make things a bit thicker as I send my sy200 straight to foh so had an idea rather than a static stop grab a second so I can mix the synths, sounds lovely and I know the midi control for the sy200 is great and very easy

I was thinking about using 2 of them just the other day.

Question, does anyone use a pitch shifter? I am thinking of trying to raise things an octave. Bought a cheap $80 octaver unit off Amazon and it's not doing the job. Am thinking perhaps pitch shifter would perform the best or maybe go ahead and pay for a Boss OC5.

I was actually thinking whether I could replace my Boss OC-5 with the pitch shift on the SY-200. Need to play around with the SY-200 a bit more before letting go of my OC5 though - which seems to be one of the best value all round octave pedals currently available.

You got any uploaded sound samples? Would love to hear - not that I would be brave enough to fork out on getting a second SY-200 for my board!

I noticed a couple of days ago that some of the sounds on the sy200 replace the resonance knob with a pitch adjustment. Those would be the highest numbered sounds on like the lead sounds or what have you, sounds 11 or 12 (memory might be failing me).

I thought I'd add this here. Somethng I just found. It's a VERY clever way to add full patch switching functionality to any of the Boss 200 series pedals, including the SY-200.

It allows you to scroll up AND down through patches while on stage. Many external third party footswitches won't work on the 200 series pedals because Boss expects a default of closed, and most third party switches default to open. This unit defaults to closed (like the Boss FS-6), however it is cheaper AND it takes up far less pedalboard space.

Edit: It also frees up the switch assigned to Ctrl1 for other functions like tap tempo, etc.

Yup, unfortunately every 200 series pedal can do slightly different actions with an aux switch, so you have to referencr your manual for the device you have; Bank up/Down presets are common, but most of them have other functions like Tap, or I think the reverb or delay can freeze, etc

I'll do a blue run even if 1 person is interested (and yellow, and red, and whatever other color the 200 series has). My only requirement I'd have is for someone to lend me a (colored)-200 so I can match it against the 8 different blue shades(or other colors) I have to find what would look good/right. As is, the success rate of color matching via photos/screenshots is 0 for 11, hence the loaner request.

Yeah, there's no good one-size-fits-all; I've had someone else ask for it thinner.
I just sent off a new prototype version to someone where both switches are moved to the flat top section; same width, but specifically for that reason: that way you don't accidently bump multiple switches on that front edge

If you want a thicker version, Id be happy to do so by just increasing the wall thickness on the sides; pretty easy tweak, no extra charge

I'm currently considering this pedal to add some synth and pad sounds with my current band. It would be used in conjunction with an EHX Superego. However there's a specific effect I'd like without cashing out on multiple pedals which brings me to my question...

Can the sy-200 do a standard whammy effect, and if so can the 2nd control foot switch be used to achieve this? I'd mainly be looking to do a one octave up in n real time with the ability to set the speed at which the note "ramps" up.
