Double Bass Bottesini Double Bass Concerto

I was going to write the entire title, but I think we all know it.

Anyways. I have two sets of sheet music for the concerto. My problem arises in that I have a copy of just the bass, and a copy of the piano music with the bass part written above. The two bass parts are different.

Does anyone know of the complete set I could get somewhere? Or if someone who has the sheet music could perhaps compare the two that I have and see if they can be used interchangeably?

Thank you :)

The 2 parts aren't different: the piano part -and the db score- are written in real key (a tone higher).
To play the DB part in piano key, you must change your tuning (F# B E A).
Or directly play the db score with piano part without re-tuning -as i do for some concertos- but fingerings are often more difficult than the db part-
At least, you can transcribe piano part to play with but it's tedious!
Hope I helped you,
Good work

I'm aware of the solo tuning, but the part written with the piano starts on an F# (the bass part that is) while on my music with just the bass part written starts on an E natural.

That's why I'm confused. Sorry if that wasn't clear.

Thank you :)

Edit: I may have even realized this, the two parts have different amounts of rests. The rhythms are the same, but the piano part has 13 bars of rest for the bass before I play, while my other score only has 4. (This is the first movement)

The links below are the first bars of the music.

There is an additional 8 bar intro found in one of your editions and not the International ed. That accounts for the discrepancy of rests in the bass part. Beyond that things should line up between the two.

When playing this with an orchestra be sure the soloist and the orchestra are using the same edition.
Publication details for some of the different publications of
Bottesini's Concerto (no. 1) for double bass and orchestra in F sharp minor:

This concerto does not seem to have been orchestrated by him and exists in its original form for double bass and piano.
It should also be noted that there are a number of personalized "private editions" out there as well. Meyer comes
first to mind. There are at least two other orchestrations. Any orchestra librarian should insist that the soloist declare precisely what they are using. Most arrangements are procured through the soloist and it is wise to keep
a "on deposit copy " of the orchestra score and parts in the library.

Besides the Hofmeister and Akkord listed above are there any other publications of the orchestra parts?

While I appreciate the research, I would be playing the solo as in a concert setting, with the only other orchestra being present, performing their own pieces. I need it for piano, which is how the original by Bottesini was written anyways.

It's the same thing. Solo tuning means that "E" will be a "F#" when it is played in solo tuning. Your piano part has the extra 8 bars or so. You still start in the same place. Play your part as written tuned F#-B-E-A and it will be perfect.

Thank you for clearing that up. So, it just has an extra 8 bar intro to it basically?

Not that it matters that much really. I haven't the experience to play a piece at this level. I'd like to think that I do sometimes, but I know I don't. New goal for the summer is the Dittersdorf bass concerto in D Major. Wish me luck guys :D
