Does Eminence (or anyone else) have a neo 12" woofer that shares similar characteristics or performs so outstandingly well in the important parameters such as xmax, power handling, bass extension etc. at a reasonable price point?

The Ciare 12.00 Nd W 1 and the Precision Devices 12SB40 are by far the best of all the Neo Twelves I've looked at. Unlike the Em DLII 2512 they don't require much box size and they don't run out of excursion well before "RMS" - that crescent swath cut out of ther orange Em line is the result of having run out of useful excursion.
But they are actually heavier (12.76 pounds and 17 pounds!) than the Kappalite 3015LF (RED) they are being compared with, and can't make nearly as much SPL in spite of the Precision Devices (YELLOW) getting 600 watts and the Ciare (GREEN) getting 400. This and cost and availability is why the fartworthy (by Kappalite standards) Em 2512 is used by almost everybody as the OEM basis for their neo 12 - and why I finally didn't go for ANY Twelve-based design.
So, yes, you can have it smaller (look at those cab volumes in the image), but you can't have it lighter and still expect decent bass extension without running out of excursion.
In fact this is just another example of Hoffman's Iron Law as well: you can have only 2 of 3 of the following: loud, small, low.
