Double Bass Bow measurements

I am trying to make a bow holder for two bows for my granddaughter. I know the lengths of both German and French but what I am not able to find is the width betwen the string and where you hold it, called the frog I believe. I hope that you can advise me what the average width or measurement is for that part of the bows please.

Any chance you can get your hands on the bows to take your own measurements? I have 3 French bows, and they are all of different lengths. Other measurements vary as well.

I wish I could but they are with my granddaughter who does not live close by. How about if you just gave me the larger measurement? That would work if you would not mind. I would appreciate it very much.

I can for my French, but I have no German bows.

On my two german bows, they are 5.5 and 6.0 cm wide at the frog. The thickness of the frog is 1.9 and 2.0 cm.

IMHO, If you are making something that will have somewhat tight tolerances, get photos and measurements of the actual bows.

If it's intended as a surprise for your grand daughter, ask one of the parents.
