Christmas will be at my daughters new house this year and we'll be celebrating that, and her great new job along with her husband and our granddaughter, who will be 3 in February, so this will be the first Christmas where she really knows what's going on. They're a great family so I can brag about them.
My son did his first degree in modern languages at Brasenose College, Oxford, went to work for Google in Dublin, decided that he didn't want to be part of the corporate world so came back to the UK, got a very lowly job in a hospital while he worked on getting a biology qualification. Got a place at Brighton and Sussex Med School and supported himself through a 5 year course by working evening and weekend shifts as a nursing assistant. He graduated as a doctor earlier this year and won't be spending Christmas with us because he'll be on the wards at a hospital in Surrey. So I can brag about him.
My sister is a BAFTA award winning TV director, and her career is going from strength to strength. She's very good at what she does, as the BAFTA attests, and she's started to get work in LA and elsewhere in the US, directing stuff for HBO and others as well as her work on various UK programmes...so I can definitely brag about her.
Me? I coulda been somebody, let me tell ya!
