Brainless Environmentalists

Far from representative of the mainstream of the ecologically concerned. That's sort of like lumping the SPCA in with PETA isn't it?

Anyone who took HS chemistry should be able to see through the ruse at first glance.

But that's just my .02

Dihydrogen monoxide should be serious concern. More and more people are dying every year by asphyxiation caused by dihydrogen monoxide. Too much of it in your home can cause major structural damage yet too little of it in your body can cause death!

There was a study in which they force fed H2O to rats, and they all died. Seems that giving them 100 times the usual exposure to this nasty stuff interfered with their breathing.

True story.

One of my favorites comes from a Florida congressional election the 1950s...

George Smathers was running against Claude Pepper, whom he called "the Red Pepper" in an effort identify him as a Communist sympathizer. Smathers launched a campaign to expose Pepper's secret "vices." He announced that Pepper was "a known extravert," his sister was a "thespian," and his brother a "practicing homo sapien." Also, when Pepper went to college, he actually "matriculated." Worst of all, he "practiced celibacy" before marriage and "nepotism" with his sister.

Naturally, rural voters were horrified, and Pepper lost.

Let's face it -- People are idiots. :(

(That said, I didn't get the dihydrogen monoxide thing until Penn and Teller explained it. But, I wouldn't have signed the petition, as I do not endorse causes that I don't know anything about.)

That is absolutely amazing.
