I love sx basses but is there maybe a bass that is like it around the same quality/price besides squire and epiphone

In Europe there's the Harley Bentons like @Mark76 mentioned and the very similar Jack & Danny (J&D). I think J&D also went by the name Jim Deacon in the UK. From China there's Ammoon on Amazon.
A fellow TB'er had a great thread about his "Hard Luck King",think that was the name. Seem to recall being told Carlo Robelli is the Sam Ash budget brand.

The Harley Bentons, especially the vintage style, are better to me than the Sx. The Harley Benton 75 Jazz bass is a great bass. It has an ash body, upgraded hardware, and the Roswell Pickups are alnico and sound wonderful.
I had an S-101 P bass that right out of the box wasnt bad at all. I upgraded it a bit and made it even better.....then it was stolen 
I bought a couple of used basses from Guitar Center that were like new for about half the cost of new. Really as close to new as you could get condition wise. May take some serious looking but there are some fantastic deals out there.
