I'm sure you'll be able to get it in just about any color. That's the way Carvin operates. So no need to freak out if you don't like blue/green.

Also, some of their signature and top end models were introduced with flame or quilt tops, but eventually were offered with a plain wood "downgrade" for less money.

I played the Bromberg model at NAMM today and I'll tell you, this is a bad-ass bass. I met Brian and told him that this was the bass of the show for me. Unbelievable playability, Carvin's amazing fit and finish, and the electronics package is so versatile there is nothing that can't be done with this bass. I played the 4 string - they had 5 string models there as well but I'm not really a 5 string guy so I stuck to the 4.

Brian told me that he is extremely pleased with the bass. The draw with Carvin was that while it's his signature model, players can get the wood choices they want, colors, etc. This bass is so new that Brian himself did not know what the price point will be. I would think that it will be on par with the Bunny Brunel models.

This one deserves a look...it blew me away.

The pickups in the bass I played were single coils...the preamp layout is volume, blend, piezo blend, treble/bass, mid/mid select...

Brian told me that the player could choose between single coil or humbucking pickups. He was very happy with the tone of the pickups and I agree, they just sounded great...you could go from full on sizzle to dubby lows and nasty mids...very, very versatile electronics package.

They're coming up with all these new and beautiful models lately. It appears they're making a strong commitment to vastly improve their bass lineup...finally.

Now if they'd just offer block inlays on maple fingerboards...

I couldn't tell if they are wood...they may be some sort of composite material.

No. Totally new electronics. Similar to the SB series, but deffinitely reworked.

They aren't wood. Plastic, or whatever they make pckup covers out of. They're also radiused.

The radiusing caught me a bit, as well as lossy parts of the image over the pickup covers looking like wood grain.

Edit: I totally can't get over it. Every way I look at them, they look like rosewood or similar.

Love Brian's work and totally dig the sound but gawd, that was nearly unbearable . If it weren't for the fact that Brian wasn't playing the whole time I would've stopped the vid.
