For this year, Yes, Brian Wilson is touring with the Beach Boys for their 50th Anniversary Tour. I missed the concert in Chicago but based on all the pics I've seen, I don't think Brian is playing bass. All the pics from Chicago (and other pics I've seen) show him playing piano.

Update:

Does it say *Valley Arts* on the H/S? It(H/S)looks a bit like the old *A* basses, by Albey Bagonian(sp).

^ that's a Valley Arts -- old-school 'boutique' guitar maker from Cali; Larry Carlton used to play one. Trademark now owned by Gibson. Their basses aren't seen very often. Hip!

I love Beach Boys and it's cool that Wilson is playing bass again

My friend saw them at the Borgata in Atlantic City (tickets were way too expensive for me) and he said they did have to help Brian a bit, but he did play bass besides piano. I saw them the last time (I think) they were all together (Brian, Carl, Dennis, etc.) when they played on the beach at Caesars in A.C.

The second, maybe third, time I saw them, Heart opened for them when "Majic Man" was just out. Remember the days when you got two name acts? Or you got two first-run feature films at the movies? Or lawn tickets for James Taylor were $11? Holy crap, somebody shut me off!

that would be cool! Bruce Johnston played bass for them alot on tour ...at least he DID....not sure now...

for a while there were two "Beach Boys" touring...one with Mike Love at the helm and the other with Al Jardine at the helm...wierd...

I saw them about the same time....loved them in High School and college...well still do....just do not listen to them as much....I saw hem 2-3 times...all GREAT concerts...not sure i would want to see them now though...might be a dissapointment...

their stuff (post surf) was way ahead of its time....even the surf stuff was pretty radical for the time...

a short time ago, Brian's "old house" came on the market near me...

actaully gave it some thought since I am/was such a huge fan BUT the price tag was somehting I could NEVER afford so I kept dreaming....would have been cool though.....I play in a praise band and we would love such a nice place to practice!

David Bowie on the Heroes tour in '77 tickets were $12.50 at Cobo Arena in Detroit.
