Bridge Calibration

Hey there,

So I recently lowered the action on my ESP LTD B-50. However, I'm pretty new to the bass and don't really know how to precision tune it now. I know the basic tuning for the strings obviously, but I heard you had to also play certain frets and have those be in tune without any buzz as well.

Is this something I should have a technician do? I do want to learn, I really enjoy repair stuff haha. If I brought it in, how much does an average set-up usually run cost wise?

Also, what's the best setup for me? I play mostly black metal music, some classic hard rock, and I also play mainly picked (though I do use fingers too). I'm just a sucky noob so, help me out, so I don't have to be haha.

Look above your post a couple of notches. There is a sticky entitiled All Basic Setup Questions Answered Here. After reading it, if you have any questions or need any clarification, post them here and someone will help you.

As far as what the best set for you is, you are the only one who can figure that out. Try different things. It won't take long. If you play long enough, it is likely that your opinion will change.
