Double Bass Bridge insert for Full Circle Pickup?

To install a Full Circle pickup on a bass with oversize adjusters, in the past I have had the bridge holes filled and redrilled. Lately I have heard talk of metal inserts that can be used to change the thread size to make a bridge compatible with one or more of the current Full Circle thread sizes available. Does anyone know anything about where these might be found, or if there is any reason not to do this if they are available? Thanks!

Might depend on the diameter difference of the two threads if an insert would have enough room. Check for the size on your bass (ask your luthier if you don't know how to measure it) and the available sizes for Full Circles. Maybe ask Robobass since he seems to know about hardware things rather well.
Maybe a Yamahiko with the larger thread might fit without a change. At least worth checking out. But have a look with imperial and metrical units and fine or coarse gear for imperial ones.

There is a (usually for automotive uses - stripped threads, etc.) product I think it is called a heli-coil.

Most hardware stores will have these. I have drilled out the bridge carefully and glued these in. They will work fine.

Heli coil... that's what I've heard it called before. Thanks! I assume they come in various sizes. A few further questions:
1) I'm assuming that due to the fit requirements of the Full Circle, it would still be best to have a luthier install these if i have little to no woodworking skills, yes?
2) Assuming it was installed correctly, is there any tonal drawback to using these versus having the bridge drilled and refilled?
3) If the oversized adjusters have bigger threads, they probably also have a bigger post on the other side as well, yes? What needs to happen on that side?
