Double Bass bridge keeps falling down

It wasn't directed at you Adumb. Toman has edited his post so that mine doesn't make sense. :)

Your tight soundpost has nothing to do with the 'dying' comment. You should read the Newbie Threads on Cheap Chinese Basses, then you'll understand where some of the remarks are coming from.

Did you enlarge the slots on your bridge when you put the weed whackers on? Perhaps they are being pinched by too narrow slots and that is why your bridge keeps falling. Of course, your bridge is a P.O.S. and still needs to be repaced. My luthier lets me watch and learn when he works on my bass, and I think he gets his blanks for less than I can get them, so going to a luthier might be more cost effective than you think. Good luck.

I don't let my Landscaper anywhere near my Basses! :scowl:

Be thankful it's not an English Bass. They already wrote a song about one of those and it's very Famous!;)

London Bridge is falling down... etc..
