Brass. probably not much heavier than the 4 string one.
Post inserts,with height adjustments like a tune-o-matic.

There should be a production run coming up, from what I hear. I'm sure they want to be certain it will sell (It isn't everyone's cup-o-tea) This one just happened to be made while an order was made and I jumped on it. Not many out there yet in 5.....
Hipshot is adding 5 string D style 2 piece bridge systems to their website this next week. I think I'm gonna try one on my "other" fiver ...

Did anyone notice that you have to be set up for back loading before installing the tail piece? Tail blocks access to intonation adjustment. Not really a problem but it never specified on the website. Am I wrong here?

I've got the 5 and 6 string versions. I think it's a very nice bridge. To me, it's an aesthetic choice between the A and D.
The intonation adjustment would only be a concern if the string anchor was installed quite close to the bridge and would be made worse if the bridge was sitting flush with the top instead of sitting off the body with some extension provided by the threaded inserts in the studs.

I am so relieved! I have not installed mine yet and hadn't even thought about hight. I didn't really want to have to drill holes if I didn't have to. I got the 5 string. Can it sit square or does it require an angle?
